Baltimore, MD - Jan. 2, 2024  - The Maryland Transportation Authority (MDTA) has announced lane closures and changes to traffic patterns on the Bay Bridge for construction work scheduled from January 2nd to January 6th, according to WMAR2News.

The eastbound span of the bridge may experience closures during the following times:

  • Tuesday through Thursday: 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning
  • Friday: 9 p.m. to 8 a.m. the next morning
  • Saturday: 8 p.m. to 9 a.m. the next morning

These closures are necessary for preservation and maintenance work. During full eastbound span closures, two-way traffic will be redirected to the westbound span.

Additionally, one lane of the eastbound span may be closed during the following times:

  • Tuesday through Thursday: 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Friday: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

During these partial closures, two-way traffic will also be managed on the westbound span.

Please note that lane closures may begin earlier if traffic conditions allow for it.
