About the Position
A co-educational K-8 Jewish day school is in search of a dynamic full-time middle school (5th-8th grade) English teacher to join our creative and dedicated faculty. We are looking for a teacher who is passionate about guiding students through literacy and writing content and skills. The ideal candidate has a strong academic background in literature as well as experience in differentiating instruction to meet a range of student needs. Knowledge of best practices, strong instructional techniques, sound classroom management, and strong collaboration skills, as well as experience in implementing technology in the classroom are also imperative.
Responsibilities:
Assisting with developing age-appropriate and engaging curriculum
Guiding students through literacy and writing content and skills
Providing differentiating instruction to meet a range of student needs
Partnering in ensuring cross-curricular learning objectives are met
Classroom management
Implementing technology in the classroom
Covering shared routine duties
Attending faculty meetings, school-wide programming, and other meetings as needed
Qualifications:
B.A. degree (M.A. preferred)
At least 2 years of experience as an English/writing classroom teacher
Strong academic background in literature
Experience in differentiating instruction to meet a range of student needs
Experience in implementing technology in the classroom
Preference given to applicants with previous experience working with students who need additional support in writing and reading comprehension and in enrichment for accelerated learners

Salary Range: $50,000-$70,000, depending on experience and qualifications
