Baltimore, MD - Mar. 13, 2024  - A little more than two years ago, Ohr Chadash Academy (OCA) embarked on an exciting and comprehensive initiative to become accredited through the Association of Independent Maryland Schools (AIMS). Accreditation opens new doors for teacher recruitment and professional development and benefits, and will provide the opportunity to be recognized as an outstanding educational institution.

As part of the process, OCA engaged in a comprehensive internal review of their curricula from the ECC through 8th grade, evaluated policies and procedures in every aspect of school life, and reflected on their strengths and areas for growth. It was a tremendous project that involved a wide variety of stakeholders, from faculty, staff, and administrators, to the Board of Directors, parents, and even Middle School students.

This week, OCA reached the next, and very exciting, phase of this process. The AIMS accreditation team, comprised of five Jewish day school and independent school educators and educational leaders, came to the school campus visiting classes, observing typical school routines, and conducting focus groups to learn about OCA firsthand and in depth. The team loved the energy of OCA and were impressed by both seeing the school in action and hearing about everything they do. The AIMS team walked away from this experience enthusiastic and inspired. May OCA continue to grow from strength to strength!
