A major blow to Maryland's clean energy agenda.

Ørsted pulled out of an agreement with the state to sell electricity generated from wind farms under development near West Ocean City.

Skipjack Wind 1 and 2, as the projects were called, would have combined to generate 966 megawatts to power more than 300,000 homes by 2026.

Ørsted said the offshore renewable energy credits they agreed to in previous years were "no longer commercially viable because of today’s challenging market conditions, including inflation, high interest rates and supply chain constraints."... Read More: WMAR2NEWS
