An Arab terrorist stabbed an Israeli man to death in the city of Ariel in Samaria, Monday afternoon.

The stabbing attack occurred at a popular hitchhiking spot near Jerusalem Boulevard in Ariel just before 2:30 p.m.

MDA paramedics and IDF medics were dispatched to the scene and treated the victim before evacuating him in critical condition to Beilinson Medical Center in Petah Tikva. The victim was declared dead shortly after his arrival at the hospital.

Authorities say the victim, a man roughly 40 years of age, was stabbed in the chest.

Initial reports indicate the terrorist fled the scene immediately after the stabbing. An IDF officer who witnessed the attack rammed the terrorist with his car, but failed to neutralize the terrorist, who fled the scene.

"When I arrived at the scene, I joined an IDF medical team and provided medical treatment to a 30-year-old man who was unconscious with a stab wound in his upper body. We performed CPR, gave drugs and stopped the bleeding. He is in critical condition."

The victim has been identified as a 40-year-old resident of Har Bracha, in Samaria.

Witnesses say the victim ran into street after he was stabbed and approached a bus, banging on the door calling for help, Walla! reported.
