It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Rabbi Emanuel Holzer, ZT'L, former chairman of the Rabbinic Kashrus Commission of the RCA and member of the OU’s Joint Kashrus Commission.

A talmid of Rav Yosef Dov Soloveitchik, zt”l (with whom he is pictured) at Yeshiva Rabbeinu Yitzchok Elchonon, Rabbi Holzer was involved in decades of distinguished service in the advancement of communal kashrus. Rabbi Holzer had been involved in the growth of OU kashrus since its inception and was intimately involved in the enormous growth of corporate kashrus production under OU auspices.

The levaya took place today, Monday, at 2 p.m., at Sinai Chapels, located at 162-05 Horace Harding Expressway in Fresh Meadows, NY.

The aron will then be flown to Eretz Yisroel for kevurah at the Eretz Hachaim Cemetery in Beit Shemesh.

Shivah will take place starting Wednesday morning at 69-69 147th Street in Kew Garden Hills, NY. Mrs. Greenfield may be reached at 718.263.1618.

Yehi zichro boruch.
