Baltimore, MD - Dec. 2, 2015 - Cookbook author and Ami Whisk editor Victoria Dwek presented a cooking demonstration this past Monday night, at the Donor Appreciation and Benefit Reception for the Jewish Children’s Library (JCL), opening this winter.

Presenting in Baltimore for the very first time, Victoria demonstrated recipes from her latest cookbook Everyday Secret Restaurant Recipes. She entertained the crowd with insider secrets and humor, while she whipped up unique dishes, including Crispy Wonton Chicken, Barbeque Short Rib Sliders, Lentil Bulgur Salad and Churros with Strawberry-Ginger Coulis. After her demonstration, attendees sampled her delicious recipes. Throughout the evening, guests had a chance to speak with Victoria and ask her advice on anything related to food.

In her introduction to the cooking show, JCL Director Faige Katz stated: “It is very appropriate that right before Chanukah, when the Greeks wanted us to copy their culture and read their books, we should be joining together to promote Jewish values through Jewish books, story CDs and DVDs for our children. Our library will be a light for our children in the midst of so much darkness out there in the world of entertainment.”
The bookshelves are ordered and The Jewish Children’s Library team is just about ready to purchase the books and materials. Once they are catalogued and shelved, the library will be ready for its debut this winter. Check out the website at www.jclbaltimore.org.
