Winter Park - An investigation is underway after a swastika was spray painted on the garage door and driveway of a home in Winter Park.
"It's messed up," said Dalton Hughes, who lives in the neighborhood. "I don't know why someone would do that."
The homeowner, David House, couldn't figure it out either. He said his wife and child are Jewish, and this must have been a personal attack.
House and his family saw the graffiti on their Waterview Loop home, down the street from Lake Howell High School, around 7 a.m. Tuesday as they went outside before work. They called the Seminole County Sheriff's Office.
Jessica Roman, a neighbor, did a double-take as she drove by with her daughter.
"I can't believe that something like that happened," said Roman, adding, "You know, it's sad to see stuff like that. People are going out of their way to make someone's life miserable for no reason."
"I saw it on Facebook and I thought, oh my god, that looks like my neighborhood," said Ann Croasdell, who lives down the street from House. "This is just not a racist neighborhood. We have such a mixed group."
The Seminole County Sheriffs Office is treating this as a criminal mischief case. They went door to door to canvass neighbors, but have yet to release the name of any person of interest in the case.
