Baltimore, MD - May 29, 2024  - Last night, the Katz Music Center at the MMAE hosted an enchanting evening of music as part of the Chamber Encounters concert series, which brings high-quality chamber performances to our community. The concert program, titled "Tonality’s Edge," featured innovative pieces by Debussy, Webern, Bloch, and Tailleferre. This event marked the first season of Chamber Encounters in the newly inaugurated Katz Music Center, setting a high bar for future performances.

The musical director and violinist, Baltimore Jewish community member Dr. Yonatan Grinberg, led the concert with fascinating insights and introductions of the pieces, and he was joined by some of the finest musicians from the Baltimore area: violinist Dr. Jeffrey Howard, violist Dr. Dan Zhang, and cellist Dr. Ismar Gomes. Together, they delivered a captivating performance that highlighted the edge of tonality and showcased their exceptional artistry. The evening was a testament to the talent and dedication of these musicians, leaving the audience eagerly anticipating the next installment in the series.
