Heavy losses forced Ukraine to rethink its strategy and slow down to preserve men and weaponry 

In the first two weeks of Ukraine’s counteroffensive, its army lost nearly 20 percent of the weaponry, a report said on Saturday. 

American and European officials told The New York Times that the damaged and destroyed weapons include some of the Western fighting machines supplied to Ukraine, namely tanks and armored personnel carriers. The rate of losses, however, dropped to 10 percent in subsequent weeks of the campaign, according to the officials.
