Happy May! Our office has been busy assisting in community cleanups, meeting with the County Executive on the budget and working to improve the second district every day. Attending these events in all corners of the 2nd District has been a great way to spend the first month of spring.

The Baltimore County Council also unanimously confirmed Chief Robert McCullough as the new police chief of the Baltimore County Police Department. Chief McCullough is a 35-year veteran of the Baltimore Police Department and will be the first African-American to lead the department. We welcome Chief McCullough’s leadership and wealth of knowledge to this vital position.

County Executive Johnny Olszewski released the budget for fiscal year 2024. The budget features millions of dollars for projects across our area and I am pleased to secure money for the improvement of the 2nd District. A full list of projects in the 2nd District can be found below. The budget process is still ongoing, as each county department will have a hearing on its budget proposals. The County Council will vote on the budget at its legislative session on May 25.

As your councilman, I am honored to have the opportunity to partner with community organizations, schools, advocates and residents to help push our district forward. As always, if there is anything my staff or I can help with, please reach out. You can contact my office by email at council2@baltimorecountymd.gov or by phone at (410) 887-3385.
