JERUSALEM (VINnews) – Avremi Weinberg, a 24-year-old Slonimer Chosid and resident of Bnei Brak, was killed Sunday afternoon in a fatal road accident on the 443 road connecting Modi’in and Jerusalem. Weinberg, who had married only six months ago, was a volunteer in numerous charitable organizations and was known for his constant willingness to help others.

Weinberg served as supervisor of logistics and catering operations at the Armonot Chen wedding hall. Grieving friends said that “his smile never left him” and “he always loved helping everyone.”

Weinberg’s father, Rav Efrayim Weinberg, serves an instructor in one of the Slonim Yeshivos. His sister is due to get married next Sunday at the end of the Shiva.

The accident occurred at around 2:30 PM when Weinberg’s motorcycle collided with a truck near the Maccabim junction. Paramedics who arrived at the scene declared him dead.

Michael Yaakobovitz, a ZAKA volunteer from Modi’in said that “it is heartrending, a young 24-year-old motorcyclist hit a truck near Maccabim junction. When I arrived at the scene the victim was lying unconscious on the road near the mangled motorcycle, with multiple injuries.”

“An MDA paramedic declared him dead. ZAKA volunteers from Modiin gave the dead man full respect while police gathered evidence from the scene. The accident is being investigated by police.”
