BALTIMORE (WBFF) The Department of Public Works has announced that its spokesman, Jeffrey Raymond, passed away on Sunday.

Director Rudolph Chow says, "The entire Department of Public Works extends our sincere and heartfelt condolences to Mr. Raymond's passing."

During the time of his passing, Raymond served as the Director of Communications with oversight and responsibility for all media related matters.

He was known as the face and voice of DPW due to his appearances on television and radio news programs, as well as in print and online media.

Officials say that Raymond, who was a former newspaper reporter, used his communications expertise to explain technical Department initiatives including the water main replacement program, compliance with the Sanitary Sewer Consent Decree and other capital projects.

Director Chow says that Raymond strived to keep communications channels open with the public. His fairness and promptness in dealing with the media earned him respect among journalists, colleagues and friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 30 11:30 a.m. at: Sol Levinson & Bros. Inc.
