Marseilles, France - A Jewish man was stabbed twice in the stomach after he intervened in an attack on another Jewish worshipper and a rabbi by a man shouting anti-Semitic slurs near a Marseilles synagogue Saturday morning.
124NEWS.TV reports that according to local accounts, the 30-year-old attacker appeared to be drunk when he first assaulted the rabbi and worshipper while spewing anti-Semitic remarks.
As the third man intervened, the attacker produced a knife and stabbed him twice in the abdomen.
A judicial source said the Jewish man’s wounds were serious, but not life threatening.
The attacker, who has a history with local police, has been arrested.
