Jerusalem, Israel - Sept. 26 - 2015 - The Jerusalem Biennale Contemporary Jewish Art festival is running from September 24- 30, 2015, featuring 10 exhibitions in 7 venues. 200 artists are featured, with more international participation than two years ago. Rami Ozeri, festival founder, is pleased with its growth from an Israeli to an international contemporary art event.

Among the 5 large scale pieces at the Tower of David Museum are an over-sized wedding gown by Motti Mizrahi that is to be cut free the last day to float away over Jerusalem, a graphic by Dov Abramson with the 70 names of Jerusalem, and a video by Brazilian artist Pablo Lobato.

Shown in the new Polonsky Building of the Van Leer Jerusalem Institute is "It Has Always Been The Book" with 22 book themed works curated by Pelusa Borthwick. On the lower level is  "New York, New York" curated by David Sperber and Deborah Liss.

At the opening guests were invited to taste new wines, while viewing works of the Jewish Art Salon for the first time in Israel. One of the New York artists, Sonia Benjamin who posed with David Sperber for photo essay, has more than one piece in the exhibit.

Contemporary art from the Biennale is also on display on Emek Refaim, in the North African Jewish Center, First Station and Hechal Shlomo over Chol Hamoed Sukkot.
