DAVIE, Fla. - A driver was killed in a wrong-way crash Sunday night on Florida’s Turnpike.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the 26-year-old driver was driving northbound in the southbound lanes just south of Griffin Road when he hit a semi-truck around 11:40 p.m.
FHP says the car flipped over killing the driver on the scene. The driver and passenger of the tractor trailer were not hurt, though their truck did jack-knife into a guardrail.
At this point, it’s unclear where the driver entered the Turnpike from or if he was driving in the correction direction and turned around.
