Baltimore, MD - Jan. 20, 2016 - Recognizing the need to bring teacher training to the community where the school is located, this year Yachad has hosted to sell-out crowds a series of professional development conferences entitled:  “Turning Mirrors into Windows:  Building Learning Strategies for Diverse Learners.”  The conferences have taken place in Toronto, New York City, and South Florida and Baltimore will host the fourth conference in this series on February 4th, 2016.

Partnering with The CJE of Baltimore, Shemesh, Agencies of The Associated, the Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore, and Sulam, the conference will take place at the Weinberg Jewish Community Center, 5700 Park Heights Avenue. The keynote presenter will be Rick Lavoie, world renown presenter on inclusion.  He will be focusing on building social skills in all of our students as well as effective and appropriate communication between the school and the home.  In addition we are excited to have Dr. Jay Lucker share his expertise  on auditory processing.   Other workshops will include topics such as teaching kriah, teaching students with adhd, building literacy skills, and creating appropriate assessments for all students.
