Joining the critics against US President Barak Obama, who decided not to use America’s veto power, permitting Resolution 2334 to pass in the Security Council, is Housing Minister (Kulanu) Yoav Galant.
Galant spoke with Ynet on Sunday morning 25 Kislev, explaining “during his (President Obama) eight years in office, he did not manage to realize who are his allies and enemies in the Middle East. I do not rule out all the good things, the important things from the outgoing administration, but there is no doubt we are looking towards the incoming president”.
Galant feels the latest Security Council resolution against Israel is a “back door effort” to renew that black era of equating “Zionism with racism”, adding “the one ally we have abandoned us in the battle field”.
Galant, a retired IDF major-general, calls on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to hold a special cabinet meeting in the Jewish Quarter of the Old City opposite the Kosel to send a clear message in response to UN efforts to try to create new facts on the ground.
