Baltimore, MD - Dec. 19, 2016 - On Sunday, December 25, 2016 Jewish Volunteer Connection (JVC) will host their annual Community Mitzvah Day.
Now in its 11th year, you’re invited to join close to 1,000 volunteers, who will work together on behalf of the community on Dec. 25th. Stop by the Weinberg JCC in the morning to participate in a host of activities, from preparing winter care packages and making fleece blankets to decorating cards for soldiers and creating flash card rings for Ashkelon and Odessa. Many of the packages will be distributed to individuals in homeless shelters in Baltimore City and County.
Volunteers also are expected to assemble and deliver more than 2,000 care packages of winter essentials (hand-knitted scarves and hats by local community members, gloves, toiletries, snacks, etc.) to local homeless shelters.
Community Mitzvah Day will occur at the Weinberg Park Heights Jewish Community Center from 9:00-11:30 a.m. and at the Rosenbloom Owings Mills Jewish Community Center from 12:00 -3:00 p.m., as part of the Jewish Community Center’s (JCC) Chanukapalooza.
