World Jewish Congress posted the following to Facebook to mark the two year anniversary of IDF soldier Hadar Goldin’s death. Read the post and watch the video below:

Two years ago, Hadar and Edna had just gotten engaged. Their happiness was intended to celebrate life and love in a time of grief for the State of Israel. The couple got engaged on the day the three kidnapped Israeli teens were found dead in Hebron. One month later, on August 1st, Hadar was killed in Gaza by Hamas. His body is held there to this day.

Two years ago, one family’s painful wait began. Goldin was ambushed by Hamas, while protecting his country. He was only 23 years old. His body was never returned, a bargaining chip for a terrorist organization constantly threatening Israel. Hadar’s family and friends are still waiting. Today, two years later, we remember Hadar through the memories and eyes of those who loved him.
