The lifeless body of 41-year-old Gary Turkel, a'h,  who went missing Sunday off the Long Island Shore washed up Friday morning around 30 miles of the shore.

The body was found by a tugboat around 7:00 o’clock, the U.S. coast guard responded and transferred the body back to jones beach, Sources say the body has been positively identified as Mr. Turkel. Late tuesday the Coast Guard had suspended the search and the Rockaway Nassau Safety Patrol continued the search from the ground and the air.

Gary Turkel was reported missing by the Nassau County Fire Department at approximately 6:15 p.m.on Sunday after a family member called local authorities and said that Turkel had gone out on a paddleboard and had not returned. A lifeguard in the vicinity of Atlantic Beach last saw him at approximately 3:30 p.m. Sunday on the paddleboard without a life jacket, the Coast Guard had said.
