Baltimore, MD - Feb. 26, 2019 - The following E-Mail was sent today to all Lifebridge employees from Neil Meltzer President and CEO.

Dear LifeBridge Health colleagues,

We are pleased to tell you that Bon Secours Baltimore Hospital has signed a letter of intent to join LifeBridge Health.

We believe this addition to our system presents an exciting opportunity to advance healthcare and community resources in west Baltimore while, at the same time, creating more opportunities for our LifeBridge Health providers, programs and services.

LifeBridge Health envisions building on Bon Secours strong foundation to provide a comprehensive and enhanced plan for all levels of healthcare services. At the same time, we want to bring additional resources to the community to address the needs of employment, addiction and community health resources.

All across our own system, we have seen how our Population Health initiatives and other programs can truly make a difference in the lives of the people in our communities. We hope to bring that type of transformational healthcare to the people in west Baltimore, an opportunity that complements the goals of our wellness-based approach to healthcare and global budget reimbursement structure.

On a more philosophical level, our LifeBridge Health purpose statement is “Caring for Our Communities Together.” This agreement with Bon Secours truly embodies that purpose.

The letter of intent is just the first step. As we begin the due diligence process, LifeBridge Health team members will be meeting teams at Bon Secours Hospital to plan the transition, including introducing Bon Secours staff to LifeBridge Health. This entire process will take several months.

This is an exciting step for our organization, and we want to thank you, our LifeBridge Health team members, for your hard work and dedication. We should all take pride in this opportunity, which is an affirmation of the great work you do.

Best regards,

 Neil Meltzer
