Baltimore, MD - Feb. 18, 2019 - On Motzei Shabbos, March 2, the Baltimore community will gather to honor Rabbi and Mrs. Moshe Hauer, the Rav and Rebbetzin of Bnai Jacob Shaarei Zion, with an evening of hakaras hatov and celebration for all that Rabbi and Rebbetzin Hauer have done for the shul, the community, and Klal Yisroel.

Over the past twenty-five years, Rabbi and Rebbetzin Hauer have built BJSZ into a shul which serves not only its members, but also the broader Jewish community, with Torah and Tefilah every day, all day.  Under Rabbi Hauer’s leadership, BJSZ offers widely attended educational events for the entire community and serves as the venue for a host of opportunities provided by other organizations.

At BJSZ, the Hauers have created a warm Jewish educational environment, where Jews celebrate Judaism.  Rebbetzin Hauer shares her nurturing personality, deep love of Klal Yisroel and her vast knowledge with women in the shul as well as students at Maalot, which is housed on the second floor of the BJSZ building.  Rabbi Hauer’s thoughts are original: they imitate no template or zeitgeist.  Hundreds of Rabbi Hauer’s classes have been recorded and are listened to by thousands of students online.

The theme of the special event honoring the Hauers, Aleinu v’al Kol Yisroel, encapsulates their efforts over the past twenty-five years, as the warmth, intelligence and inclusivity of their teaching and leadership have reached beyond the walls of BJSZ, spread across Baltimore’s Jewish community and reached into the land of Israel.  Whether by teaching small chaburas, forging relationships with communal leaders across Baltimore, or leading missions to Israel, Rabbi and Rebbetzin Hauer share a sincere and infectious love of Torah and an appreciation of all Jews that has transformed lives around the world.

The evening of gratitude for Rabbi and Rebbetzin Hauer on the evening of March 2nd culminates a special Shabbos.  During Shabbos at BJSZ, HaRav Moshe Mendel Glustein, HaRav Yehoshua Hartman and Mr. Moishe Bane, President of the Orthodox Union, will speak about the rabbonim who have influenced Rabbi Hauer and the impact that he has had on Klal Yisroel.

To participate in this event, either by attending the dinner at Beth Tfiloh on March 2nd and/or by putting an ad in the journal of appreciation, or to learn more about the special speakers  that Shabbos, please contact Bnai Jacob Shaarei Zion’s office at office@bjsz.or or 410-764-6810.   You may also visit the shul’s website at www.bjsz.org for more information.
