Jerusalem - Amnesty International will conduct a series of intense campaigns singling out Israel in early 2019, according to leaked documents seen by NGO Monitor and an analysis of public statements.

NGO Monitor, an independent research institution that tracks other non-governmental organizations (NGOs) that use the humanitarian banner as cover for anti-Israel activities, says that Amnesty will delegitimize Jewish historical connections to Jerusalem and elsewhere, as well as promote discriminatory boycotts (BDS) against Israel.

NGO Monitor says that the campaign is comprised of two elements, the first of which is a “blacklist” of Israeli businesses that “are profiting from human rights abuses by operating in the illegal Israeli settlements.”

Amnesty’s campaign is timed to bolster the United Nations blacklist on Israeli companies operating in Judea and Samaria, which it has been promoting, the watchdog said.

Amnesty documents also show that it specifically seeks to censure companies that educate the public about Jewish history and historical ties to Jerusalem.

The second part of the anti-Israel campaign is to press governments, and especially the United Kingdom, to “ban Israeli settlement goods from entering your markets, and to stop companies based in your country operating in settlements or trading in their goods.” Read more at VINnews
