Baltimore, MD -  Dec, 26, 2018 - The Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore is pleased to announce that Doni Greenwald and Lauren Ades are this year’s Harry Greenstein Young Leadership Award recipients, in recognition of their outstanding leadership in the Jewish community.

Greenwald is an active communal leader serving as a member of the lay leadership of a number of local organizations. In addition to his board position at The Associated, Greenwald serves on the boards of CHAI, Talmudical Academy, JTAP and Bnai Jacob Shaarei Zion, where he most recently served as President. 

Greenwald is originally from Los Angeles, California. He attended Ner Israel Rabbinical College in Pikesville and received his MBA from Johns Hopkins University School of Business. He works for Newmark Knight Frank, a global real estate services firm, as a commercial real estate appraiser in their valuation division.

When not at work and volunteering, he enjoys spending time with his wife Chaya and their five children Avigdor, Perri, Reena, Naomi and Batya. 

Ades is a Member with PK Law and is part of the firm’s Corporate and Real Estate Group.  A graduate from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School and New York Law School, she has significant experience in the areas of corporate and business law, commercial financing and real estate. She has represented individuals before the Internal Revenue Service and the Maryland Comptroller. In 2013, Ades received the VIP award from the Daily Record and was also recognized as one the Daily Record’s “Leading Women” in 2015.  This award identifies women who are 40 years old or younger for the tremendous accomplishments they have made so far in their career.

Ades is currently a member of The Associated Board, the National Young Leadership Cabinet, a board member of the Macks Center for Jewish Education (CJE), an agency of The Associated, on the Engagement and Transition Committee of The Associated’s Center for Community Engagement and Leadership and serves as a campaign solicitor. She is also a past Chair of IMPACT and a CJE connector. 

Ades lives in Lutherville with her husband Jon, their children Ellie and Benjamin and their dog Harper.

Harry Greenstein served as Executive Director of The Associated for more than 37 years, and later headed the Legacy and Endowment Department.  A lawyer, administrator, and most of all a humanitarian, Harry helped our federation grow into the leader that it is today.  The award, named in his honor and presented annually, recognizes young adults who display sustained leadership in service to The Associated.
