Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak received $1.8 million for “research” in 2006, but no results of the studies have been released.

Prime Minister Netanyahu’s spokesman Yonasan Urich asked why journalists are concentrating on the prime minister’s alleged wrongdoings while not bothering to investigate the Barak incident.

Barak got the money from the US-based Wexner Foundation which focuses on the development of Jewish professional and volunteer leaders in North America, and public leaders in Israel.

Barak told Haaretz in 2015 that he was earning more than a million dollars a year, and that from 2001–2007, he also earned more than a million dollars yearly from giving lectures and consulting for hedge funds. Barak said he made millions more from investments in Israeli real estate.
