Sunday, November 18, 2018 -  The third Jerusalem Leaders Summit Public Policy Conference was held in the ballroom of the Inbal Jerusalem Hotel. Awards were presented to Israeli Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked and Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant, who were keynote speakers. 

The International Leaders Summit is an independent think tank dedicated to strengthening the rule of law, advancing economic freedom and free trade, and featuring contributions from the fields of innovation and technology.   

Welcome and introduction were given by Joel Anand Samy, Co-Founder International Leaders Summit and Jerusalem Leaders Summit. Natasha Srdoc, Co-Founder, International Leaders Summit and Elizabeth Saunders, President, Sanford Saunders Enterprises, participated during the day and evening conference with included strategic panels with international participants.

Serving as moderators were  Steve Linde, Editor-in-Chief, The Jerusalem Report,  Chris Mitchell, Middle East Bureau Chief, CBN News, and Gol Kalev, The Jerusalem Post

In his opening Keynote Address, Bryant used humor with detailed information on topic, "Expanding Markets, Advancing Free and Fair Trade." The Governor presented strategic trade opportunities and economic partnership possibilities with businesses in Mississippi such as defense contractor Raytheon and shipbuilding Huntington Ingalls. 

Sir Ivan John Lawrence QC, Barrister, United Kingdom and former British Conservative Member of Parliament, Maurice McTigue, QSO, Former Cabinet Member, New Zealand and Oded Revivi, Head of the Efrat Municipal Council & Chief Foreign Envoy, YESHA Council spoke on a panel concerning strengthening rule of law.

After his presentation Revivi spoke briefly with BJL concerning Israel and "rule of law."

Celebrating the Life, Leadership and Legacy of Sanford M. Saunders, a Co-Founder of the Jerusalem Leaders Summit, his wife Elizabeth Saunders said, "He was an international rule of law expert who fought ferociously for his clients and for the rule of law.  Morning, noon and night." Before his passing in December 2017, Saunders was a co-managing shareholder in Greenberg, Traurig, and attended Johns Hopkins University for his undergraduate degree and Georgetown Law School.      

Ben Young, a friend, colleague and Managing Director of Georgetown Public Affairs, LLC said of Saunders, “Above all Sandy was a gentleman.  He was an even-keeled and calming presence to everyone.  To his friends Sandy was someone who always had our backs.  And we knew it.  Though he was a force in the legal field, Sandy was never too busy to spend time talking about family, politics, the Washington Redskins or life in general.  I enjoyed his company immensely.”  

Paricipating on a panel "Advancing Economic and Security Partnerships" were Mayor Benny Kashriel of Ma’aleh Adumim, former Ambassador to US Danny Ayalon, Former Deputy Foreign Minister of Israel, and Eldad Halachmi, Vice President, Strategic Partnerships, I.NextJ. 

Featured speakers at the dinner session were Yaakov Katz, Editor-in-Chief, Jerusalem Post and Chris Edmonds,CEO, Roddie’s Code. Edmonds representing his heroic father, Master Sergeant Roddie Edmonds, who when captured during WWII by the Germans, saved his Jewish soldiers. Not allowing the Jews to be selected from group, Edmonds stepped forward and said, "We are all Jewish." Roddie Edmonds is the only American to be named a Righteous Among the Nations by Yad Vashem and the State of Israel,

The final presentation of the day was The Distinguished Leadership Award given to Governor
Phil Bryant, for Strengthening the Israel-US Strategic Partnership. 

The evening concluded with Yerushalayim Shel Zahav.

Among the summit attendees were Earl Cox, international broadcaster and journalist who served in senior level positions with four US presidents and is outspoken in support of Israel, Israeli diplomat Lior Haiat, Consul General to Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Puerto Rico, former Marylander Elie Pieprz, International Affairs for the YESHA Council director, and a student delegation from Ariel University,
