Baltimore, MD - Feb. 19, 2018 - This evening, Chai Lifeline Mid-Atlantic hosted our very first community-focused educational seminar. This symposium was geared towards educators in the jewish day schools, and aimed to develop the skills, strategies, and sensitivities that teachers must be aware of in order to successfully teach the bereaved student. This topic was chosen by a vocal conglomerate of parents in our community.

Chai Lifeline Mid-Atlantic flew in Rabbi Nosson Muller and Rabbi Dr. David Fox for the evening, and invited Rabbi Shmuel Silber to give the opening remarks. We had 40 people in attendance, and 433 independent viewers who joined live on line to watch the symposium over the course of the 1 hour and 45 minute symposia.

Rabbi Muller is the Principal of Yeshiva Tiferes Tzvi in Chicago and has developed an extensive program on supporting the bereaved student in the classroom with the Torah U’Mesorah Foundation for nearly a decade.

Rabbi Dr. David Fox is forensic and clinical psychologist and the Director of Interventions and Community Education of Project Chai, the Crisis, Trauma and Bereavement Department for Chai Lifeline International.

Chai Lifeline’s mission statement on our website states that we cater to the child, the family, and the community. Tonight, we made a tremendous leap forward in fulfilling that mission, as they work towards a true revolution of chessed and support in the Mid-Atlantic community.
