Jerusalem, Israel - Nov. 2, 2017 - Numerous events have been planned around the centennial of the Balfour Declaration on the second of November. Speeches, musical entertainment, lectures, and conferences, are being held in Israel and around the world.

The Ramat Rahel Conference Center was the location of one Balfour, 100 years event, organized by Maayan Jaffe Hoffman, Vice-President Publishing and Audience Strategy of Israel365. Opening remarks by Hoffman were preceded by the singing of Hatikvah by Rabbi Elan Adler.

The morning session panel included David Bedein, CEO of the Center for Near East Policy Research, Israel Medad, Research Fellow at the Menachem Begin Heritage Center, and Barry Shaw, Senior Associate for Public Diplomacy at the Israel Institute for Strategic Affairs. 

Medad mention how the Russian Bolshevik Revolution was at the same time as Balfour's letter to Lord Rothschild. The Jewish community, Medad pointed out, was seriously divided at the time over the Zionist ideal put forth by the Bible believing Balfour.

Bedein noted how the Palestine Liberation Organization has been trying to rewrite history. While Shaw who has written a book on the Balfour era and Battle in Beer Sheva, mentioned the importance of hearing from "new Zionist voices, those of Arab kids." Young Israel Arabs who are speaking out for Israel on US campuses, trying to counter hate speech. The panelists noted that often those anti-Israel voices on campuses are liberal Jews, who as Bedein quipped, observe a "secular religion of Tikun Olam."

Israel365 founder and CEO Rabbi Tuly Weisz, recently back from a trip to the US, entertained the audience with his references and remarks entitled, "Torah sources on Gentiles and the Land of Israel." Weisz used the story of victorious British General Allenby at Jaffa Gate, getting off his horse, and walking into the Old City, saying only the Messiah will ride in on an animal.

Editor-in-chief of Breaking Israel News, Abra Forman, noted "we cannot understand without Torah." Since making aliyah, Forman says she can "see the words of Torah come to life" and her role is to share the latest news from a Biblical perspective. 

Gidon Ariel, co-founder of Root Source and Sondra Oster Baras, Director of Israel office of Christian Friends of Israeli Communities, were on a panel with Bridges for Peace leaders, CEO Rebecca Brimmer and Bob O'Dell, along with Tommy Waller, founder of HaYovel.

After lunch, the international delegates, who were able to witness the Australian Light horsemen reenactment in Beer Sheva this week, returned to the auditorium for more presentation. 

For Bible believing Christians, Jerusalem is central and the audience was eager to hear of three organizations.

Yehiel Gozal, CEO of Yahad, United for Israel's soldiers, spoke of the Israel Defense Forces, with the young people seeing their enrollment as a mission to defend Israel. 

Also on the stage was Shlomit Grayevsky, Director of ALEH Jerusalem. ALEH is a school for children with severe disabilities, Grayevsky is proud to note, Arab children, Haredi children, all children in ALEH are given special attention to learn and achieve as much as possible. 

The third presenter in this session moderated by Shlomo Schreibman, Vice President of Israel Media Network, was Miriam Ballin. Besides being a wife, mother and trained emergency Hatzalah volunteer, Ballin is the founder and National Director of the Untied Hatzalah Psychotrauma and Crisis Response Unit, 

The schedule concluded with a panel moderated by Eliyahu Berkowitz, senior reporter for Breaking Israel News, Shimon Apisdorf, Yishai Fleisher and Rabbi Moshe Lichtman discussing "The State of Israel and the Redemptive Process."
