A special home for female lone soldiers is about to become a reality in Yerushalayim.

The planned Bayit L'Chayalot, is to provide housing for ten female lone soldiers during their service in the IDF. The Center currently runs and operates four homes for lone soldiers throughout Israel, two in Jerusalem, one in Beit Shemesh and one in Sha’arei Tikva, which house male combat lone soldiers and provides shared, fully furnished housing, meals, support and guidance in a warm, welcoming atmosphere.  Similarly, the Bayit L’Chayalot will provide  female soldiers with a true, extended family along with all the comforts of a home away from home.

In announcing the initiative, Richard Corman, Vice President, Lone Soldier Center Community Services, commented, "we are committed to creating the best possible facility to care for these wonderful young women each of whom has demonstrated selfless dedication and commitment to serving the people of Israel. The planned Jerusalem housing facility will reflect our commitment to support their IDF service, to minimize their hardship, and to express to these young women the gratitude of the Jewish people both here in Israel and throughout the Diaspora."

Internationally acclaimed singer Shlomo Katz will perform a benefit concert for the Bayit L'Chayalot at 8:00 pm, on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at the Bet Shmuel Theater in Yerushalayim.
