Baltimore, MD - Mar. 6, 2023 - As Purim is now upon us, it is crucial to be vigilant against impostors dressed as religious Jews soliciting donations in the community. Not so shockingly, (this occurs every year), there have been reports of non-Jewish individuals preying on unsuspecting individuals, such as the recent incident at Market Maven where two women were caught soliciting money from a shopper. (See photo). The suspects sped off in a dark gray, tinted windows15-passenger van with Washington plates (GCP 235) when confronted by the store's management. The same women were seen in Seven Mile Market and management made them leave the premises. It's likely that there are other impostors out there, so please exercise caution and verify the legitimacy of any tzedakah collectors before giving them your money.
