Baltimore, MD - Feb. 14, 2023  - Rabbi Chesky Tenenbaum, Director of the Jewish Uniformed Service Association of Maryland-Chabad and a Baltimore Police chaplain, embarked on a mission to locate the burial site of Max Hirsch, the first Jewish Baltimore City Police officer to be killed in the line of duty on February 14, 1935. As the secular anniversary of Hirsch's passing had arrived, Rabbi Tenenbaum took it upon himself to investigate and find out where the officer was laid to rest.

After conducting a thorough investigation, Rabbi Tenenbaum was able to track down the cemetery where Hirsch was buried. He made his way there to pay his respects and was overcome with emotion as he stood at the grave site, exactly 88 years after Hirsch's passing.

Rabbi Tenenbaum took a moment to daven and recite Tehillim in Hirsch's memory, honoring the life and service of the fallen officer. May the memory of Chaim Mordechai ben Yitzchok be a blessing.
