Jerusalem, Israel - Feb. 9, 2022 - The Besheva media group held its 19th Jerusalem Conference at the VERT Hotel in Jerusalem, Israel, February 7-8, 2022. From Monday morning to Tuesday evening a long list of speakers, including Members of Knesset and Israeli Ministers, and the Mayor of Jerusalem Moshe Lion spoke to conference attendees. Also, Israeli rabbis and organizational leaders presented in one-to-one interviews and TED talks, and panel discussions.
To open the conference which filled the hotel ballroom, Israeli President Isaac Herzog spoke. The final speaker to take the podium after 6:00 pm on Tuesday was former Prime Minister and Opposition leader Benjamin Netanyahu.
An important feature of the conference is the presentation of Jerusalem Prizes in a variety of categories. Rav Benji Levine won a Jerusalem Prize for Ahdut Yisrael, Bringing Jews together with his work for Gesher. HaRav Yosef Cohen was presented a Jerusalem Prize with his wife Sara for Chesed. Another of the awards went to Rav Yehuda Felix for his over 50 years as a leader in Jewish Education.
Sessions were facilitated by popular Israeli journalists. Yoni Kempinski of Arutz 7 served as master of ceremonies. He was challenged to keep the packed program on schedule when presenters went over their allotted time.
Networking between and during sessions in the various lobbies and the long list of participants are common features for the various Israeli media groups that host similar conferences.

The Israeli covid 'green pass' regulation was lifted at midnight before the conference began. The majority of attendees in the large crowd wore masks showing concern for the omicron variant.
