Jerusalem, Israel - Dec. 14, 2021 - The 11th Temech Conference for Israeli businesswomen and entrepreneurs was held at the Jerusalem International Conference Center on ט' טבת, December 13th. Previously the annual conferences were held in June prior to the end of the school year, however, the 2020 event was postponed due to corona and had to be rescheduled.

Having impressively grown over the years, approximately one thousand women participated in parallel programs, beginning with breakfast and ending after an elegant chicken meal for a late lunch. The larger group had a program all in Hebrew and in another room was a program designed for women more comfortable with English speakers.

Temech was started in 2006, with the aim to raise the professional and financial levels of Jewish women enabling them to better themselves and to support their families. Jewish women with a husband learning Torah full-time were given opportunities to train for technology and business advancements.

For ten years, Shaindy Babad led Temech in its growth. The current CEO who took over as the pandemic was closing down much of the world is Gvira Milworm. She leads a team of women who support the various Temech services, including a Hub with office spaces, and computers with internet located conveniently near the Jerusalem Central Bus Station. The past year has been difficult with corona closings and limitations on Temech and the Hub.

The conference was for many women the first live event and business networking event in well over a year. The decorations, food and program were organized well, down to the large printed sign near the breakfast sandwiched in Hebrew and English, telling that they were mezonos rolls. The only complaint heard was not enough time for private conversations and networking with the nonstop program. There were cleverly designed areas in the main hall lobby to sit and talk and private consultations with experts were also available.

Included in the speakers for Anglos were Rebbetzin Miriam Kosman, organization expert Yael Weisner, Chana Mason on actualizing your vision, and Michal Eiskowitz founder of CopyTribe, who gave great advice on practical pricing principles.

Two impressive presentations were given by Ofer Golan on the strength of words and Ilana Toweg a "Shmitta observant farmer's wife." Both spoke to Hebrew and Anglo audience and were surrounded by participants after their talks in the halls wanting more.

In the Hebrew language schedule Rav Chenoch Drori shlit'a gave words of chizuk to the morning crowd.

Temech Chairman Avi Schron and Rabbi Shmuel Bloom, founder and board liaison were not able to attend as in the past due to travel restrictions. Also unable to come this year, Chavi Hertz who sponsors the Temech Conference in memory of her grandmother Henya Malka Lachner z"l.

Penina Eichler, Director of Temech Anglo Programming, thanked among others Leora Gruen and Beth Shapiro for their work, and Rivky Goldhaber for production. An energizing day that ended with music and song, women networking with women at a live event. And as in recent years the Anglo program was opened by emcee Naomi Elbinger, her topic was the benefits of being a freelancer.

Careful thought and hours of preparation in organization resulted in a successful event, where green passes were scanned and those without could be tested on site before entering the conference center.

Business coach Lesley Kaplan when approached by BJL for an opinion of the conference responded, "Great seeing many of my face to face & virtual friends & colleagues again! Thanks Temech for providing us with quality & varied speakers & topics, each with a different message and food for thought."

CEO Milworm noted how the Hebrew for the conference theme was Double Power - Make a Force. But when trying to translate for an Anglo audience it might be seen in a negative way. "It is always a fine line at Temech. We are an Israeli organization and we have a real English language presence. Our needs are sometimes the same and sometimes different...But at its core, we all need koach - which is strength, power and energy."

Double Power or Energize! - the option was to go back and forth, though most women stayed with one program. What makes Temech different from other women's events? Milworm writes, "first and foremost, we serve Hashem. I have not found this kind of advice anywhere else. Only at Temech do we ultimately remember that we do our best and He does the rest."

The range of talent and skills, of age, and length of time living in Israel was wide, from many generations of Israelis, to one young mother in Israel for a month who decided to come and brought her baby with her.
