Baltimore, MD - Nov. 10, 2021 -  For over 25 years Menucha has been in the Baltimore community to support children with special needs and their families. Over the last year though they have really taken things to the next level. Perhaps the most significant is the addition of the adult day program. This program filled a huge gap in the community and has been a game changer for adults with special needs who have aged out of the school system; this is the only program of its kind which meets the needs of a frum family. In this program, they work on vocational skills, social skills, important life skills and include a robust kodesh curriculum. Of course, this is in addition to their long-standing evening respite program where the participants enjoy structured play, music, informal Jewish education, a delicious dinner, and door to door transportation! The boys and men of Menucha have transformed their mishmar program into a beautiful mini-Yeshiva beis medrash program! They are learning hilchos Shabbos, shmiras halashon, and many time-relevant halachos. The Sunday Funday program continues to provide structure to long Sunday afternoons with parsha, music, friendship, and crafts. Volunteers coordinate Shabbos home visits to give parents a rest and provide lifelong friendships.

In addition to the above programs, Menucha hosts a slew of seasonal opportunities including a Shabbaton, Rosh Hashana packages, free Yom Kippur respite, Chol Hamoed celebrations, a simchas beis hashoeva and carnivals! To sum it up, Menucha is offering programming every day of the week!

All these developments are a direct result of the generosity of the Baltimore community in last year’s campaign. Now, this special organization is running the annual campaign to raise $150,000 to enable them to continue to provide these crucial programs and to grow even bigger.

Every dollar you donate will be DOUBLED by a group of matching donors until Thursday night.
