Eddie Jaku, an Australian real estate dealer who survived numerous death camps including Buchenwald and Auschwitz, died after a heart attack at the age of 101.

He was famous for his Holocaust talks at schools and the Sydney Jewish Museum, and for his bestselling book titled, The Happiest Man on Earth: The Beautiful Life of an Auschwitz Survivor.

Jaku said that after his first son was born, he “realized I was the luckiest man on Earth.”
