Baltimore, MD - Sept. 6, 2021:
To our Baltimore Jewish Community and beyond:
To say that the last 2 years have been whacky is an understatement. B’H here we are getting back to quasi-normal after many tumultuous months trying to find the right resolution for how to go about our daily lives while ensuring everyone's safety.
We have suffered local tragedies from the Covid pandemic. One, very, very close to home here at BJL with the petirah of Rebetzin Dr. Aviva Weisbord, A’H, an extremely dear friend. But we have also done remarkably well working together under the guidance of the Baltimore Vaad HaRabbanim.
Chosen as the go-to spot for all our community COVID needs, BJL created www.BJLCovid.com and through the efforts of a few key volunteers (who insist their names not be mentioned), most, if not all, your questions and concerns were addressed here.
We thank you, our readers, contributors and our advertisers for your amazing continued support. When we launched in June 2010, we endeavored to give you a central spot for news and information from all over the world with a focus on our Baltimore community that would keep you informed of all-important matters. From the traffic on BJL and your positive feedback, B’Chasdei HaShem, we have succeeded.
We are very excited to announce launch of the revamped BaltimoreJewishLife.com website right after Yom Tov along with the Jerry & Sora Wolasky Initiative of T’Nuchamu. T’nuchamu, “Where Community Makes the Minyan” was custom designed by BJL’s engineers to relieve the issue of not being able to have Shiva minyanim begin on time (or maybe never) due to lack of attendance, and more. (This will also be made available to other communities.)
Wishing the entire community and Klal Yisrael a Ksivah VaChasima Tova.
Jeff Cohn and the BJL staff
