Pyongyang accused Israel of "massacring children," labeling it a "severe challenge to the future of humankind"

North Korea - which does not seem to frequently involve itself in Middle Eastern politics but has a history of condemning Israel - launched a scathing attack on the Jewish state, according to a Foreign Ministry statement last week. 

It accused Israel of genocide and crimes against humanity, while turning the Gaza Strip "into a huge human slaughterhouse and place of massacring children."

The comments came on June 4, which the United Nations has designated as the International Day of Innocent Children Victims of Aggression, which the hermit kingdom was specifically designed to draw attention to Israel's "acts of aggression" against a "great number of innocent Palestinian and Lebanese children victims" in August 1982, according to Newsweek.

Israel has an “extreme misanthropic spirit and ambition for territorial expansion,” and is engaged in “state-sponsored terrorism and [the] act of obliterating other nations,” the Foreign Ministry in Pyongyang said in the statement released on Friday, reported The Jerusalem Post. Read more at i24
