Baltimore, MD - June 3, 2021 - Last night hundreds of people from the Baltimore Jewish community gathered at Suburban Orthodox Congregation Toras Chaim to honor the memory of Efraim Gordon, z'l.

At the Shloshim memorial, words of chizuk and unity were shared by Rabbi Yaakov Hopfer, Rabbi Moshe Heinemann, Rabbi Shmuel Kaplan, Rabbi Shmuel Silber and Rabbi Elchonon Lisbon, shlita. Among the elected officials present were State Senator Jill Carter, Delegates Dalya Attar, Sandy Rosenberg and Tony Bridges, Baltimore City Councilman Isaac "Yitzy" Schliefer as well as representatives from the Mayor’s office and Baltimore Police Homicide division.

Councilman Schleifer commented, “I am grateful for the fantastic, ongoing work done by the BPD Detectives and the cooperation of the Baltimore community coming together to work on bringing those responsible to justice. We continue to grieve with Ephraim’s family, and it is our prayer that no other Baltimore family experience such heartache as we work together to reduce crime and violence across Baltimore City."

The community expressed its gratitude for the steadfast work law enforcement has been engaged in since Efraim's tragic murder and its resolve to prevent crimes like this from ever happening again. Detectives continue to investigate this crime as they look to hold those responsible brought to justice.
