Ahead of the formation of a government of change, rabbis call on Naftali Bennett not to leave the Charedi parties in the opposition.

Ahead of the formation of a government of change, rabbis on Saturday night called on Yamina chairman MK Naftali Bennett not to leave the Charedi parties in the opposition.

Arutz Sheva has learned that in recent days, personal appeals have been made to Bennett demanding an effort to integrate the Charedi parties into the coalition of change.

Those who have been turning to Bennett are rabbis and public figures who support in principle the formation of a government of change led by Bennett but strongly oppose it being established without right-wing balances on issues of Jewish values.

As part of the messages conveyed to Bennett, it was clarified that a government formed without the Charedi parties with Avigdor Liberman as Finance Minister and the Finance Committee controlled by Yisrael Beytenu will be a distinctly secular left-wing government which would dramatically change the status quo on issues of religion and state.

"This is not a unity government," the rabbis said. "This is a distinctly secular left-wing government that will tear down the state's Jewish flag, destroy the religious-Charedi Torah world, harm the religious-Charedi yeshiva world and change the state's Jewish character on all the issues on which the Jewish-democratic state has been founded since Israel was established."
