'That I was subject to antisemitic smears for supporting it only confirms its paramount importance'

The United Kingdom's Housing Minister has reportedly been placed under police protection after receiving a slew of  "anti-Semitic attacks" for his support in creating a national monument commemorating the Holocaust, according to London-based daily The Jewish Chronicle. 

The project has been criticized for its location, in gardens near Parliament in London, which critics say would make it a target for terrorists.

The association "London Historic Parks and Gardens Trust" had launched a lawsuit denouncing a conflict of interest in the piloting of the project by the government.

But on Monday a High Court judge ruled that Robert Jenrick had acted entirely properly over the application for a Holocaust Memorial in Westminster, according to The Chronicle. Read more at i24
