Baltimore, MD – May 3, 2019 - This Shabbos, Bnai Jacob Shaarei Zion will be hosting   scholar-in-residence Yonoson Rosenblum, the noted author and columnist from Yerushalayim. Yonoson is a graduate of Yale University and the University of Chicago, and spent ten years studying in Kollel, before launching a career in writing. He has written more than ten biographies of Jewish leaders and has been a regular columnist at both the Jerusalem Post and Mishpacha.

The Shabbos is sponsored by Zevy and Sara Wolman, in memory of Zevy’s father, Avraham ben Faivel, z”l, and by World Mizrachi, as part of their international project commemorating the 71st celebration of Yom HaAtzmaut.

Our guest’s two talks on Shabbos morning - the Drasha and a post-davening talk at a special sit-down Kiddush - will focus on contemporary issues in Eretz Yisrael: “‘The Great Divide?’ Prospects for Unity in Eretz Yisrael”, and “Charedim, Yom HaAtzmaut and Yom HaZikaron”.

His Shabbos afternoon lecture at 6:30 pm will be a portrait of Rav Noach Weinberg z”l, “Taking Responsibility for Klal Yisrael”.

Please note as well that on Sunday morning at 10:15 am, BJSZ will be hosting a very special community-wide event, co-sponsored by Shomrei Emunah, Ner Tamid and the World Mizrachi, with Yonoson Rosenblum and Rav Moshe Taragin of Yeshivat Har Etzion, on the topic: “Strength in Diversity: The Complementary and Conflicting Flavors of Torat Eretz Yisrael.” I hope you will join for that as well.

All the events are free and open to the public.
