Cleveland, OH - The killing of an Orthodox podiatrist in the heart of Cleveland’s Jewish community has taken a horrific twist, as two persons of interest who died in a SWAT standoff with police have been identified as the murder victim’s sons.

Beachwood Police Chief Gary Haba told VIN News that the two dead men found in the home had been positively identified as Mark and Michael Warn, the sons of Dr. Richard Warn.  Haba said that the could not say at this time how the two had died or give any information on any evidence found in the Elmwood Road home where the standoff occurred.

As previously reported on VIN News, evidence recovered from the Brentwood home of Dr. Richard Warn after he was found dead of multiple gunshot wounds led police to a second home owned by Warn on Elmwood Road, located just three miles from his primary residence.

A SWAT team sent to secure the home before detectives’ arrival was greeted by shots from a high powered rifle that damaged an armored police vehicle.  Police returned fire and retreated from the home, and after several unsuccessful attempts to make contact with the two moved in 12 hours later and discovered their bodies of two men.

Both 31 year old Michael Warn and 29 year old Mark Warn had been born to Warn during his previous marriage, reported Cleveland.com.  Neither had any local criminal history, said police.

Neighbors of the Elmwood Road home said that its occupants often threw loud parties and described them as unusual, calling police for minor infractions such as when cars parked too closely to the curb.
