Save the Date! TUESDAY, AUGUST 14, 2018, 6:30-8:00 pm, 2800 Block of Hanson Avenue
Baltimore, MD - July 116, 2018 - Neighborhoods throughout Baltimore are invited to join over 38 million neighbors across approximately 16 thousand communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide.
National Night Out is nationally sponsored by NATW, and co-sponsored locally by the Cheswolde Neighborhood Association (CNA).
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. Together, we are making that happen.
On Tuesday August 14, 2018, neighbors throughout our community are asked to lock their doors, turn on their front porch lights and spend the evening outside with neighbors and law enforcement, fire, EMS and community volunteer first responders, Baltimore Shomrim Safety Patrol, Hatzolah Emergency Medical Services and Chaverim. Elected officials from all branches of government are scheduled to attend.
The Cheswolde Neighborhood Association celebrates National Night Out by hosting an elaborate free block party that includes food, music, moon bounces and many other family friendly activities. Emergency vehicles and equipment will be proudly on display from participating agencies and organizations.
This year the CNA will be recognizing two dedicated public servants that have gone above and beyond their assigned duties to enhance the safety and quality of life in our community. The recipients of the 2018 Community Hero Awards are:
Assistant Sheriff, Sam Cogen, Sheriff's Office Baltimore City
Sergeant William Currie, Baltimore City Police Department
Cheswolde Neighborhood Association, President, Nathan Willner said, “This is a night for our community to stand together to show appreciation for those who selflessly put others before themselves every day. National Night Out showcases the vital importance of first responder-community partnerships and citizen involvement. Our community cherishes its relationship with the dedicated men and women of law enforcement, fire service, EMS and volunteer first responders. National Night Out is our way of celebrating those partnerships that make our Community a wonderful place to live and raise a family."
