Jerusalem, Israel - Juner 28, 2018 - The tenth annual Jerusalem Light Festival in the Old City opened on Wednesday night, with more than 35 light installments.
Jerusalem Mayor Nir Barkat and wife Beverly and Minister of Jerusalem Affairs Ze'ev Elkin and family were among the thousands who came to view the Israeli and international light exhibits. Installments ranged from individuals in unusual glowing costumes, to sound and light shows displayed on the old stone walls. Streets were closed to allow the crowd to flow through and observe the show.
Nightlights this year were the projections on the outside wall near Jaffa Gate and on "Rainbow" on the Hurva Synagogue in the Jewish Quarter. The shows will be repeated every few minutes, from 8:00 pm until 11:00 pm closing time.
The Light Festival runs nightly from June 27 to July 5. Many of the stops and videos include music, therefore, BJL went early, so you can enjoy the music before the three weeks.
