Baltimore, MD - May 8, 2018 - Rabbi Aryeh Richter, a member of our IJC Night Kollel, has assumed the role of Rabbinic Intern at SOTC.

Rabbi Richter developed his love for spreading Torah and his passion for community work over the past ten years. In his professional role, he currently serves as the executive director for Menucha, which provides services for children with special needs.

As Rabbinic Intern, Rabbi Richter will continue to actively serve as an IJC Night Kollel fellow giving regular shiurim and providing chavrusah learning. He will also work closely with Rabbi Silber, offering drashos, shiurim and halachic guidance as needed.

Rabbi Richter and his wife Chana, a pediatric resident physician at Johns Hopkins University Hospital, lived in Jerusalem before settling in Baltimore. There he earned his smicha and served as a Shoel U'Meishiv at the Jerusalem Kollel. Rabbi Richter also served as an assistant and Rabbinic intern to Rabbi Shmuel Weiner of Ramat Eshkol.

His sensitivities, respect for others, and approachable personality have made him a go-to for people at their times of need and his counsel and halachic guidance have enabled him to build long-lasting relationships. Working with young professionals, college students, high school yeshiva students and families through various trips and groups, Rabbi Richter formed significant connections with each individual, and succeeded in giving them a positive view and understanding of the beauty of our Jewish heritage. He is now completing his Masters in Marriage & Family Therapy.
