Jerusalem, Israel - Apr. 30, 2018 - The Springer Auditorium of The Israel Museum in Jerusalem, Israel, was the location of a presentation by former Israeli Ambassador to United Nations, Dr. Dore Gold, president of the Jerusalem Center of Public Affairs,(JCPA) on “Jerusalem: The Renewed Diplomatic Struggle over the City’s Future.”

The well-crafted presentation was based on Dr. Gold’s scholarship and experience on the front lines of Israeli diplomacy. Designed to present Israel's historical rights, Dr. Gold included archaeology, history, and International law, as well as freedom of religion for all faiths. Plastic chairs had to be added to the theater to accommodate the standing-room-only crowd.

To confront UNESCO resolutions and persistent myths which seek to subvert history and undermine the Jewish connection to Jerusalem and to Israel, the presentation responded to Six Lies.  "Diplomacy of Doubt," Palestinian Authority leaders constant repetition denying Jewish connection, to Jerusalem is influencing opinion.

Following successful appearances at the United States Senate, in Washington, DC, London, Cambridge and Oxford Universities, New York and Los Angeles, JCPA hosted the evening event in Jerusalem to celebrate the State of Israel’s 70th anniversary of Independence, and in anticipation of the United States Embassy’s move to Israel’s capital.

A question and answer session followed the presentation, which covered issues including the moving of the US Embassy to Jerusalem, the revival of diplomacy after the issuance of the Trump Plan, and the status of Jerusalem in Israeli public opinion.

At the conclusion, guests were invited to join a guided tour of the Israel Museum’s Archaeology Wing, to view ancient Jerusalem artifacts, including from the time of Herod.

Of interest to BJL, a significant number of JCPA guests were former Maryland residents, many olim living in Jerusalem vicinity.
