A massive barrage of rocket fire was aimed at Jewish towns and cities in southern Israel at around 10:30 pm Sunday night.

It appears that at least a dozen rockets and missiles were fired at southern Israel by Gaza terrorists.


The Red Alert incoming rocket siren wailed through the regional council districts of Lachish, Coastal Ashkelon, Eshkol and other Gaza Belt areas.

The Iron Dome anti-missile defense system went into action instantly and was heard by residents far below, intercepting the missiles aimed at the coastal city of Ashkelon. There are reports of a dozen interceptions, and many more launches.

Nearly every missile aimed at densely populated centers were intercepted by the Iron Dome aerial defense system.
