QR code scanning an effort to prevent the use of fake certificates in order to gain entry to facilities

Israel on Sunday began requiring the QR code of the Green Pass to be scanned before holders of the digital certificate will be allowed entry into facilities that must comply with the government program to contain the coronavirus.

The QR code enforcement comes after technical problems slowed down implementation of the updated Green Pass that includes verification of all three vaccine doses available to the Israeli public.

According to the new rules, the QR code must be scanned by a Health Ministry app that compares the Green Pass information to the ID on file in order to prevent the use of fake certificates.... Read More: i24
