Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant says Hamas has "lost control" of Gaza amid the Israeli military's assault on the terrorist organization.

Gallant made the statment in a Monday broadcast to Israeli television. Israel is in the 38th day of its war against Hamas, and its ground assault in Gaza has lasted for roughly two weeks. While Gallant says Hamas' control over the region has been removed, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said Israel will not stop until the terrorist organization is "destroyed."

“Hamas has lost control of Gaza. Terrorists are fleeing southward. Civilians are looting Hamas bases,” he said. “They don’t have faith in the government anymore."
